Community Support & Resources

Decoding You

Humans are not meant to survive in isolation, as a species, they need each other to thrive.
The need for connection and community is even more important for Queer folks, some would say life-saving actually.
When queer people do not have access to other Queer people they lose a part of themselves, a part of their humanity that they may be unable to see outside themselves.
Like a mirror with no image reflected back, queer people need to see others who share their identities and life experiences. This shouldn’t be an optional aspect of life but necessary.
"Where can I locate other LGBTQ+ folks?"
Great question, the struggle is real.

There is also this big beuatiful thing called:
PRIDE

PRIDE is the celebration for Queer people during the month of June. It was born out of an uprising for queer rights in 1969 in which Queer people fought back and took a stand to have their human right to gather, to have community, and to exist outside of the oppressive shadows of heteronormativity.
PRIDE month and events now offer Queer people the opportunity to celebrate their identity, increase visibility, and connect with other like-minded community members.

Have you ever attended a event?
If you have access to celebrating your LGBTQ+ identity you should!
